Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

A polite request to nice people!!

I love you I love you I love you very nice people who like to give me things out of the blue. I can't comprehend what I've done to deserve these things or even you, but I hope I'm able to repay you in the future.

BTUSTUUTUTUT. There is one problem I'm having. When I am gifted computer games, there is pretty much a 99% chance that my graphics card won't be able to run it… I was gifted The Humble Indie bundle, and my graphics card can't play a single game in there :'( However I am enjoying the soundtracks so that is WONDERFUL.

I appreciate these gifts with all of my heart. It's just a shame that I can't use them. I know gifts are meant to be surprises, but, I have to ask that before you gift me a computer game, you HAVE to run it by me first. I don't want you to waste your time and, potentially, your money.

So please let me know ahead of time :( I'm sorry, I know it sucks the fun right out of it. I mean I'm not expecting it to happen again, but apparently I'm surrounded by the nicest people on the planet.

... I wish, oh well, at least gift art runs on almost any computer :D

Also: Never feel like you don't deserve gifts, In one way or another, you bring light into other people's lives, and they simply want to bring a little light and cheer back to you. It's sad that such a practice has fallen into such under-use that people feel guilty about other people making them feel happy. Failing that, try bringing more joy to other people to until you no longer can't understand why people think you deserve to have gifts, then everyone wins!

...or you start getting more gifts and don't feel you deserve them.

..... T_T Quite the conundrum now that I think about it.

That's a different problem I have, haha. I mean, just... a lot of gifts. And I'm unable to give them gifts in return. I know I don't need to pay them back or anything, but I would like to be able to surprise them with something, but I can't anytime soon hha :')
